Senior Information Technology Consultant
As a Senior Information Technology Consultant with Betta System Services, you will be providing technical stewardship and support for our customers. This role is focused on listening to people’s technology challenges and utilizing your analytical skills to design and implement best-of-breed solutions that are secure and easy to use. Betta System Services is small information technology services company designed for small businesses. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and build technology solutions that deliver business value with being secure and easy to use. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, and candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Mostly 8-5, some occasional weekend or evening work, working at customer sites more than 50% of the time. Travel to field sites within southern Alberta is required approximately 1 – 2 days a month and clean drivers abstract is required.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Customer Engagement:

• Lead customer collaboration to understand their business outcomes and IT/IS requirements

• Prepare business service catalog of customer IT Services and Roadmap of technology strategy

• Create clearly defined project proposals and SoW that outline scope, effort/duration and cost in alignment with roadmap

• Provide organizational change management guidance to customers when deploying new information systems on prem, private cloud, public cloud or SaaS

• Consistently build a rapport with clients through in-person and virtual interactions leading to Betta being the IT provider of choice

 

Architecture Delivery

• Understand customer technology stack to deliver confidentiality, availability and integrity with a splash of easy to use and exceptional user experience.

• Lead customer projects designing and configuring network equipment, Azure subscriptions and private cloud environments.

• Technical troubleshooting and optimize complex technical issues while keeping customer and team members informed.

• Research and recommend IT solutions and software to support the client’s technology journey

 

Secure Information Management

• Discover, understand and communicate customer Governance, Risk and Compliance including regulatory requirements and prepare strategy and action plan to deliver.

• Conduct risk assessments for IT and OT systems and secure them for operational safety and performance

• Review processes and suggest enhancements or improvements that can create consistent time-effective solutions for clients.

 

Grow your Leadership

• Leverage Betta Toolbox to orchestrate maximum value to customer for information systems.  (PSA, RMM, Network Monitoring, M365, Cyber security)

• Bring your strengths to the table and help others on the team to do the same

• Assist and support other team members on more challenging requests to create a learning experience

• Work with senior management to create and develop strategies for future

• Responsible for creating and updating user training guides following Betta templates

 

Qualifications  

• 8 years experience and certification with Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Azure, Intune administration and security

• 8 years experience with networking equipment including Firewalls, Switches, Routers, wireless configuration, deployment, management and support

• 5 years Oil and Gas IT experience supporting IT systems with ICS, SCADA integration and industry software QByte, Prodview, Prodman. 

• Experience in MSP or multi-customer environment preferred 

 

Nice to have: 

• ITIL v3 Foundations or Higher

• SQL database management

• RMM and PSA experience

• Linux experience

• PowerShell scripting & Power Automate, Python
